This note is a review for those who are seeking in-home care for seniors in the Gainesville, FL area. On behalf of our disabled brother, our family is grateful and fortunate to have worked with Ovation Home Care.

Brent Pope and his wife Terri own and manage the company. Both of these individuals are highly qualified in their respective fields. Brent is a retired pastor, who also worked in marketing. Terri is a licensed Occupational Therapist with many years of experience specializing in the care of seniors. Together, they are dynamic partners ready to serve a family’s loved one.

Brent and Terri are knowledgable, skilled, understanding and compassionate. They conducted a comprehensive face-to-face assessment of our brother and his needs while we attended via Zoom. They offered not only practical suggestions to make his apartment more safe but also various schedule options for his in-home care. We were immediately drawn to their thoroughness, kindness and professionalism.

Our brother needed a care provider to assist with ADL (Activities of Daily Living). We started with one day per week at the minimum 4 hours. The companion was punctual, friendly, and very helpful. She took him grocery shopping; did the laundry; prepared meals with enough for leftovers; emptied the garbage; and took Greg for his walks. Terri was on hand to intermittently supervise the care provider.

Ovation Home Care provided us with an app called “The Family Room.” The app allowed for ongoing communication. Notes about the day left by the care provider and conversations with Brent/Terri were continually updated. We liked how easy they made it for us all to be on the same page.

Ovation Home Care is networked with individuals and agencies that help to optimize caregiving options. Brent and Terri are eager to suggest ideas and are always available for a phone call. Email messages are promptly answered.

Although our brother needed to be hospitalized after only three visits by the care provider, we learned a lot from Brent and Terri’s expertise and most importantly, we enjoyed the peace of mind knowing that our brother was well cared for. Should the need arise, we would welcome the opportunity to work with them again.
