This Is Our Story
The genesis for Ovation Home Care Gainesville and Ocala FL began in the hearts of Brent and Terri Pope, the founding leadership team whose partnership extends beyond the boardroom. They sought to create an aging-in-place company, not just another private duty Senior Home Care agency.
Brent and Terri had had their own encounters with in-home private duty senior home care. First, when Brent’s mom moved into their home and needed ongoing personal home care following a hospitalization. Then, too, after Terri’s mother suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and came home requiring hospice care.
They valued the care and support their mothers received, but their experiences convinced them that private duty home care could be so much more. So began the kernel of an idea that would grow into Ovation Home Care Gainesville and Ocala FL—an aging-in-place company designed to create a better future for aging seniors.
Brent Pope
Owner/Operator
Brent’s diverse background as a licensed minister, marketing professional, and entrepreneur afford him a unique perspective as the visionary leader of Ovation Home Care. As a minister, he has worked with all age groups, most recently with the elderly participants of Alabama’s first PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) facility.
In his capacity as a marketing professional, he has worked with some of the most prestigious academic medical centers in the country, helping shape the way they communicate palliative care, community health, and other initiatives to both their patients and the wider population. He currently serves as the Community Engagement Chair for the Gainesville Walk to End Alzheimer’s and sits on the Board of Directors for ElderCare of Alachua County.
Terri Pope, OTR
Client Experience Manager
Terri has been a licensed, registered occupational therapist in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Her career spans 30 years—over 25 of which has been spent caring for the elderly in homes, skilled facilities, and their homes.
For the past several years, she has invested her efforts in a supervisory role at Alabama’s first PACE facility, where the entire focus of the organization is to help home eligible seniors age in place, ensuring they get all the care and support they need without having to leave their residence.
